This work of art by Paul Jacob Naftel could be acquired at Christies in London in November 2010 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Collection of the Late John Appleby: A Channel Island Treasure House auction, the work A peaceful stretch of river in the evening light changed hands for GBP 625.00 (€ 746.87) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Jacob Naftel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The landing place at Havre Gosselin, Sark in November 2010 with an auction result of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 11,203.11).
