Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2016 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, which included the work Near Amalfi, The Valley De Moulins by Paul Jacob Naftel. The price achieved of GBP 2,375.00 (€ 2,998.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Paul Jacob Naftel - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The landing place at Havre Gosselin, Sark, which sold at auction in November 2010 for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 11,203.11).
