In November 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Irish Art, which included the work Clare Island From Achill by Paul Henry. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 150,000.00 (€ 176,136.67), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Paul Henry have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mountains and Lake, Connemara in July 2021 with an auction result of GBP 622,500.00 (€ 730,010.33).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im November 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Clare Island From Achill von Paul Henry zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 150.000,00 (€ 176.136,67) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paul Henry auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mountains and Lake, Connemara im Juli 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 622.500,00 (€ 730.010,33).
