In November 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work The Encounter by Patrick Hennessy. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,650.00 (€ 8,981.82), 53% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Patrick Hennessy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Self-Portrait, which sold at auction in September 2018 for GBP 30,000.00 (€ 33,693.86).

Im November 2021 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Encounter von Patrick Hennessy zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 7.650,00 (€ 8.981,82) und damit 53% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Patrick Hennessy mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Self-Portrait beobachtet, die im September 2018 für GBP 30.000,00 (€ 33.693,86) versteigert wurde.
