Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2008 Christies in London held the auction The Irish Sale, which included the work The Moroccan Boy by Patrick Hennessy. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,431.05) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Patrick Hennessy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Self-Portrait in September 2018 with an auction result of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 33,693.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Irish Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Moroccan Boy von Patrick Hennessy zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.125,00 (€ 1.431,05) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Patrick Hennessy erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Self-Portrait im September 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 30.000,00 (€ 33.693,86).
