Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Patricia Piccinini could be acquired at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2009 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Important Australian Art auction, the work Australian Subdivision (As The Suburbs Encroach On The Honeyeater'S Habitat, This Group Is Adapting To Life On The City Fringe) (From The Series Nature'S Little Helpers) changed hands for AUD 4,800.00 (€ 2,822.01) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of AUD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Patricia Piccinini achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Canopy in August 2009 with an auction result of AUD 56,400.00 (€ 33,158.67).
In der Auktion Important Australian Art wechselte die Arbeit Australian Subdivision (As The Suburbs Encroach On The Honeyeater'S Habitat, This Group Is Adapting To Life On The City Fringe) (From The Series Nature'S Little Helpers) für AUD 4.800,00 (€ 2.822,01) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00.
