Auction result misses estimated price range
In August 2009 a collector was able to acquire the work Australian Domain (While The Alpha Male Does Maintain A Strong Hierarchy, Juveniles Are Free To Playfully Interact) (From The Series Nature'S Little Helpers) by Patricia Piccinini for AUD 4,800.00 (€ 2,822.01). This price was achieved in the auction Important Australian Art at Sothebys in Melbourne and was even below the estimate range of AUD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Patricia Piccinini achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Canopy in August 2009 with an auction result of AUD 56,400.00 (€ 33,158.67).
