Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Shape of Water by Pat Steir was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in January 2024. The price achieved of USD 1,152.00 (€ 1,006.82) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pat Steir achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Elective Affinity Waterfall in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 2,295,000.00 (€ 1,966,580.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Shape of Water von Pat Steir kam im Januar 2024 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.152,00 (€ 1.006,82) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pat Steir erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Elective Affinity Waterfall im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.295.000,00 (€ 1.966.580,98).
