Auction result misses estimated price range
In October this year a collector was able to acquire the work Abstraction, Belief, Desire by Pat Steir for USD 1,280.00 (€ 1,211.20). This price was achieved in the auction Prints & Multiples at Bonhams in London and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pat Steir achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Elective Affinity Waterfall in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 2,295,000.00 (€ 1,966,580.98).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Abstraction, Belief, Desire von Pat Steir für USD 1.280,00 (€ 1.211,20) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Prints & Multiples bei Bonhams in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pat Steir erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Elective Affinity Waterfall im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.295.000,00 (€ 1.966.580,98).
