Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Handface) by Paloma Varga Weisz was sold in the Contemporary Curated auction at Sothebys in New York in June 2014. The price achieved of USD 13,750.00 (€ 10,043.83) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Paloma Varga Weisz - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in May 2010 for USD 46,875.00 (€ 37,897.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Handface) von Paloma Varga Weisz wurde im Juni 2014 in der Auktion Contemporary Curated bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 13.750,00 (€ 10.043,83) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Paloma Varga Weisz mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Mai 2010 für USD 46.875,00 (€ 37.897,16) versteigert wurde.
