Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Online | New York, which included the work New Flags (Pie Chart) by Pablo Vargas Lugo. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,922.01) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pablo Vargas Lugo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Snoopy (Figura C), which sold at auction in November 2015 for USD 11,875.00 (€ 11,243.14).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Online | New York durch, in der auch die Arbeit New Flags (Pie Chart) von Pablo Vargas Lugo zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.922,01) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Pablo Vargas Lugo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Snoopy (Figura C) beobachtet, die im November 2015 für USD 11.875,00 (€ 11.243,14) versteigert wurde.
