Auction result well in line with expectations
In September last year Christies in New York held the auction Post-War to Present, which included the work Makeda by Ouattara Watts. The price achieved of USD 113,400.00 (€ 115,915.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ouattara Watts have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Afro Beat in May last year with an auction result of USD 781,200.00 (€ 727,984.34).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War to Present durch, in der auch die Arbeit Makeda von Ouattara Watts zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 113.400,00 (€ 115.915,36) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ouattara Watts auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Afro Beat im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 781.200,00 (€ 727.984,34).
