Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Otis Kwame Kye Quaicoe achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in September last year. In the Evening & Day Editions auction, the work Rancher sold for GBP 5,670.00 (€ 6,453.01) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Otis Kwame Kye Quaicoe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shade of Black in July 2020 with an auction result of USD 250,000.00 (€ 212,332.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Otis Kwame Kye Quaicoe erzielte im September letzten Jahres bei Phillips in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Evening & Day Editions wurde die Arbeit Rancher für GBP 5.670,00 (€ 6.453,01) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Otis Kwame Kye Quaicoe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shade of Black im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 250.000,00 (€ 212.332,26).
