Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Dapper II by Otis Kwame Kye Quaicoe was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Phillips in London in March this year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 50,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 50,800.00 (€ 57,794.81). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Otis Kwame Kye Quaicoe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Shade of Black, which sold at auction in July 2020 for USD 250,000.00 (€ 212,332.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Dapper II von Otis Kwame Kye Quaicoe wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Phillips in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 50.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 50.800,00 (€ 57.794,81) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Otis Kwame Kye Quaicoe mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Shade of Black beobachtet, die im Juli 2020 für USD 250.000,00 (€ 212.332,26) versteigert wurde.
