Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Pheonix Park, Dublin, 1871, a sketch by Orlando Norie was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2010, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,502.98). Admittedly, works by Orlando Norie have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mounted French Military Officers: 30 Works in January 2010 with an auction result of USD 10,625.00 (€ 7,660.42).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Pheonix Park, Dublin, 1871, a sketch von Orlando Norie im Juli 2010 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.502,98) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Orlando Norie auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mounted French Military Officers: 30 Works im Januar 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 10.625,00 (€ 7.660,42).
