Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Time After Time: Blow Up No. 5 by Ori Gersht was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 15,000.00 (€ 12,697.88). Admittedly, works by Ori Gersht have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled 5 from Blow Up in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 107,100.00 (€ 92,711.22).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Time After Time: Blow Up No. 5 von Ori Gersht im September 2017 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 15.000,00 (€ 12.697,88) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ori Gersht auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled 5 from Blow Up im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 107.100,00 (€ 92.711,22).
