Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction A Life Among Artists: Contemporary Photographs from an Esteemed Private Collection, which included the work Elephant 2 (from Flowers) by Ori Gersht. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,080.00 (€ 8,706.92) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ori Gersht achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled 5 from Blow Up in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 107,100.00 (€ 92,711.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion A Life Among Artists: Contemporary Photographs from an Esteemed Private Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Elephant 2 (from Flowers) von Ori Gersht zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 10.080,00 (€ 8.706,92) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ori Gersht erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled 5 from Blow Up im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 107.100,00 (€ 92.711,22).
