Auction result well in line with expectations
The work May 27, 1985 From Today Series (1966-2013) by On Kawara was sold in the Contemporary Art Evening Sale auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in July 2020. The price achieved of HKD 7,615,000.00 (€ 834,325.63) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 6,200,000.00 – 8,200,000.00. Admittedly, works by On Kawara have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Decade) in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 4,175,000.00 (€ 3,715,735.14).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit May 27, 1985 From Today Series (1966-2013) von On Kawara wurde im Juli 2020 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Evening Sale bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 7.615.000,00 (€ 834.325,63) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 6.200.000,00 – 8.200.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von On Kawara auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Decade) im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.175.000,00 (€ 3.715.735,14).
