In April last year Phillips in London held the auction New Now, which included the work Omodunni by Oluwole Omofemi. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 27,720.00 (€ 33,055.12), 39% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Oluwole Omofemi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Invader in March last year with an auction result of USD 189,000.00 (€ 170,377.72).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 39 % übertroffen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Phillips in London die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit Omodunni von Oluwole Omofemi zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 27.720,00 (€ 33.055,12) und damit 39% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Oluwole Omofemi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Invader im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 189.000,00 (€ 170.377,72).
