In November this year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work The Domino Game by Norman Cornish. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,864.00 (€ 5,636.32), 62% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Norman Cornish; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Newcastle Bar sold at auction in March 2018 with the realized price of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 9,962.36).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 62 % übertroffen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Domino Game von Norman Cornish zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.864,00 (€ 5.636,32) und damit 62% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Norman Cornish; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The Newcastle Bar im März 2018 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 9.962,36).
