Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July this year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Men at a Bar by Norman Cornish. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,200.00 (€ 3,733.43). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Norman Cornish - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Newcastle Bar, which sold at auction in March 2018 for GBP 8,750.00 (€ 9,962.36).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Men at a Bar von Norman Cornish zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 3.200,00 (€ 3.733,43) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Norman Cornish mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Newcastle Bar beobachtet, die im März 2018 für GBP 8.750,00 (€ 9.962,36) versteigert wurde.
