Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Singing Man by Norman Cornish was auctioned at Christies in London in April 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,071.51) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Norman Cornish - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Newcastle Bar, which sold at auction in March 2018 for GBP 8,750.00 (€ 9,962.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Singing Man von Norman Cornish kam im April 2019 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.071,51) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Norman Cornish mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Newcastle Bar beobachtet, die im März 2018 für GBP 8.750,00 (€ 9.962,36) versteigert wurde.
