Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2019 Christies in London held the auction Modern | British & Irish Art, which included the work Miners waiting for a bus by Norman Cornish. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,089.39) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Norman Cornish have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in March 2018 the work The Newcastle Bar was auctioned for GBP 8,750.00 (€ 9,962.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2019 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern | British & Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Miners waiting for a bus von Norman Cornish zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 5.089,39) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Norman Cornish konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im März 2018 die Arbeit The Newcastle Bar für GBP 8.750,00 (€ 9.962,36) versteigert.
