Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Norman Cornish achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in July this year. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Newcastle from Gateshead sold for GBP 4,480.00 (€ 5,226.80) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Norman Cornish; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Newcastle Bar sold at auction in March 2018 with the realized price of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 9,962.36).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Norman Cornish erzielte im Juli diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Newcastle from Gateshead für GBP 4.480,00 (€ 5.226,80) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Norman Cornish; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The Newcastle Bar im März 2018 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 9.962,36).
