Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Norman Lewis achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in November 2019. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art Morning Session auction, the work Untitled (Study in Magenta) sold for USD 56,250.00 (€ 51,048.19) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Norman Lewis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ritual in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 2,780,000.00 (€ 2,522,914.97).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Norman Lewis erzielte im November 2019 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Morning Session wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Study in Magenta) für USD 56.250,00 (€ 51.048,19) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Norman Lewis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ritual im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.780.000,00 (€ 2.522.914,97).
