Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern Evening Auction, which included the work Snow in the City by Norman Lewis. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,411,500.00 (€ 1,250,553.73), 18% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Norman Lewis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ritual, which sold at auction in November 2019 for USD 2,780,000.00 (€ 2,522,914.97).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modern Evening Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Snow in the City von Norman Lewis zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.411.500,00 (€ 1.250.553,73) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Norman Lewis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ritual beobachtet, die im November 2019 für USD 2.780.000,00 (€ 2.522.914,97) versteigert wurde.
