Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Trees over rocky river bed by Norman Adams was sold in the 20th Century British Art auction at Christies in London in June 2008. It achieved a price of GBP 937.50 (€ 1,185.03), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 17%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Norman Adams - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Oliviers in the Weed Field; Forest, Ardéche; Yorkshire Study; Cherry Orchard, Ardéche; Trees at Douk Ghyll; South France; and Bright Light on the Sea, Hebridean Study, which sold at auction in May 2007 for GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,648.82).
