This artwork by Nino Caffè achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September 2007. In the Impressionist and Modern Art auction, the work Stelle filanti sold for USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,153.74) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Nino Caffè; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A Break From Prayers sold at auction in March 2006 with the realized price of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 8,596.92).
