Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Mosca cieca sulla spiaggia by Nino Caffè was auctioned at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts in November last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 765.00 (€ 741.06). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nino Caffè achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Break From Prayers in March 2006 with an auction result of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 8,596.92).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Mosca cieca sulla spiaggia von Nino Caffè im November letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 765,00 (€ 741,06) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nino Caffè erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Break From Prayers im März 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.000,00 (€ 8.596,92).
