It achieved a price of GBP 13,200.00 (€ 19,424.69), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 47%. Admittedly, works by Nilima Sheikh have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Going Away in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 79,250.00 (€ 87,675.39).

Die Arbeit Carrying Home von Nilima Sheikh wurde im Mai 2007 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Indian Art Including Art from Pakistan and Sri Lanka bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 13.200,00 (€ 19.424,69) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 47%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Nilima Sheikh auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Going Away im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 79.250,00 (€ 87.675,39).
