Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2013 Christies in Mumbai held the auction South Asian Art, which included the work Untitled (Unfaithful Husband); Untitled (Midday) by Nilima Sheikh. The »bidding war« ended at INR 350,000.00 (€ 4,114.96), 17% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nilima Sheikh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Going Away in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 79,250.00 (€ 87,675.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2013 führte Christies in Mumbai die Auktion South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Unfaithful Husband); Untitled (Midday) von Nilima Sheikh zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von INR 350.000,00 (€ 4.114,96) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nilima Sheikh erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Going Away im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 79.250,00 (€ 87.675,39).
