Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2009 Christies in New York held the auction South Asian Modern+Contemporary Art, which included the work After Amnesia by Nilima Sheikh. The price achieved of USD 25,000.00 (€ 17,088.17) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Nilima Sheikh have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Going Away in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 79,250.00 (€ 87,675.39).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2009 führte Christies in New York die Auktion South Asian Modern+Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit After Amnesia von Nilima Sheikh zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 17.088,17) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Nilima Sheikh auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Going Away im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 79.250,00 (€ 87.675,39).
