The result of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 40,851.27) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 35,000.00 – 45,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nilima Sheikh - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Going Away, which sold at auction in June 2011 for GBP 79,250.00 (€ 87,675.39).

Die Arbeit Shadows, Stains von Nilima Sheikh wurde im Juni 2013 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 35.000,00 (€ 40.851,27) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 35.000,00 – 45.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Nilima Sheikh mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Going Away beobachtet, die im Juni 2011 für GBP 79.250,00 (€ 87.675,39) versteigert wurde.
