Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October last year Bonhams in London held the auction The Marine Sale, which included the work The brigantine Kestrel under way in a stiff breeze, with the Menai off her starboard bow by Nicholas Matthew Condy. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,120.00 (€ 7,129.73), 22% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Nicholas Matthew Condy have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fernande, R.W.Y.C. winning the Queen's Vase, Plymouth, August 26th, 1849; and A schooner yacht at anchor off Mount Edgcumbe, Plymouth in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 41,125.00 (€ 59,035.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion The Marine Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The brigantine Kestrel under way in a stiff breeze, with the Menai off her starboard bow von Nicholas Matthew Condy zur Versteigerung kam.
