Auction result well in line with expectations
In April this year Bonhams held the auction The Marine Sale, which included the work A busy shipping scene in Plymouth Sound by Nicholas Matthew Condy. The price achieved of GBP 1,402.50 (€ 1,598.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nicholas Matthew Condy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fernande, R.W.Y.C. winning the Queen's Vase, Plymouth, August 26th, 1849; and A schooner yacht at anchor off Mount Edgcumbe, Plymouth in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 41,125.00 (€ 59,035.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion The Marine Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit A busy shipping scene in Plymouth Sound von Nicholas Matthew Condy zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.402,50 (€ 1.598,39) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nicholas Matthew Condy erzielen.
