This artwork by Nicholas Matthew Condy achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in April this year. In the The Marine Sale auction, the work HMS Canopus off the coast sold for GBP 2,805.00 (€ 3,196.79) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nicholas Matthew Condy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fernande, R.W.Y.C. winning the Queen's Vase, Plymouth, August 26th, 1849; and A schooner yacht at anchor off Mount Edgcumbe, Plymouth in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 41,125.00 (€ 59,035.55).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Nicholas Matthew Condy erzielte im April diesen Jahres bei Bonhams einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Marine Sale wurde die Arbeit HMS Canopus off the coast für GBP 2.805,00 (€ 3.196,79) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nicholas Matthew Condy erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fernande, R.W.Y.C. winning the Queen's Vase, Plymouth, August 26th, 1849; and A schooner yacht at anchor off Mount Edgcumbe, Plymouth im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 41.125,00 (€ 59.035,55).
