The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,462.50 (€ 5,321.37), 49% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nicholas Matthew Condy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fernande, R.W.Y.C. winning the Queen's Vase, Plymouth, August 26th, 1849; and A schooner yacht at anchor off Mount Edgcumbe, Plymouth in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 41,125.00 (€ 59,035.55).
