Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2021 Bonhams in Paris held the auction The Greek Sale, which included the work Bataille navale dans l'Archipel, 31 Janvier 1825 by Nicholas Matthew Condy. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 8,287.50 18% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Nicholas Matthew Condy have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fernande, R.W.Y.C. winning the Queen's Vase, Plymouth, August 26th, 1849; and A schooner yacht at anchor off Mount Edgcumbe, Plymouth in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 41,125.00 (€ 59,035.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2021 führte Bonhams in Paris die Auktion The Greek Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bataille navale dans l'Archipel, 31 Janvier 1825 von Nicholas Matthew Condy zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 8.287,50 und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Nicholas Matthew Condy auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Fernande, R.W.Y.C. winning the Queen's Vase, Plymouth, August 26th, 1849; and A schooner yacht at anchor off Mount Edgcumbe, Plymouth im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 41.125,00 (€ 59.035,55).
