Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Linear Construction In Space No.2 by Naum Gabo was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 150,000.00 – 250,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 146,500.00 (€ 184,190.95). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Naum Gabo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Linear Construction in Space No. 2, which sold at auction in October 2019 for GBP 515,250.00 (€ 597,653.05).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Linear Construction In Space No.2 von Naum Gabo im November 2014 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 150.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 146.500,00 (€ 184.190,95) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Naum Gabo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Linear Construction in Space No. 2 beobachtet, die im Oktober 2019 für GBP 515.250,00 (€ 597.653,05) versteigert wurde.
