Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Linear Construction In Space No.1 by Naum Gabo was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 150,000.00 – 250,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 125,000.00 (€ 142,351.68). Admittedly, works by Naum Gabo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Linear Construction in Space No. 2 in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 515,250.00 (€ 597,653.05).
