Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Two prints from the series Shunsen nigao-e shu Collection of Shunsen Portraits: Sawada Shojiro as Hayashi Buhei (1927) and Sawamura Gennosuke as Nikki Danjo (1928), both good impressions, colours, and condition by Natori Shunsen was sold in the Japanese Art and Design auction at Christies in London in May 2010. The price achieved of GBP 875.00 (€ 1,025.18) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Natori Shunsen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sosaku hanga shunsen nigao-e gashu (Creative prints: collected portrait-pictures by Shunsen) in March 2001 with an auction result of USD 25,850.00 (€ 29,395.04).

Die Arbeit Two prints from the series Shunsen nigao-e shu Collection of Shunsen Portraits: Sawada Shojiro as Hayashi Buhei (1927) and Sawamura Gennosuke as Nikki Danjo (1928), both good impressions, colours, and condition von Natori Shunsen wurde im Mai 2010 in der Auktion Japanese Art and Design bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 875,00 (€ 1.025,18) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Natori Shunsen erzielen.
