Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ichikawa Shocho II (1886-1940) and Kataoka Gado IV (1882-1946) as Umekawa and Chubei, in the play Koibikyaku Yamato Orai, 1927 Onoe Matsusuke IV (1843-1928) as Inga Monoshi Kohei, in the play Imashimegusa susuki no nozarashi, 1925 Ichimura Uzaemon by Natori Shunsen was sold in the Japanese and Korean Art auction at Christies in New York in September 2007. The price achieved of USD 1,375.00 (€ 967.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,200.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Natori Shunsen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sosaku hanga shunsen nigao-e gashu (Creative prints: collected portrait-pictures by Shunsen) in March 2001 with an auction result of USD 25,850.00 (€ 29,395.04).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Ichikawa Shocho II (1886-1940) and Kataoka Gado IV (1882-1946) as Umekawa and Chubei, in the play Koibikyaku Yamato Orai, 1927 Onoe Matsusuke IV (1843-1928) as Inga Monoshi Kohei, in the play Imashimegusa susuki no nozarashi, 1925 Ichimura Uzaemon von Natori Shunsen wurde im September 2007 in der Auktion Japanese and Korean Art bei Christies in New York versteigert.
