Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2020 Bonhams in New York held the auction Fine Japanese and Korean Art, which included the work Showa era (1926-1989), 1927-1929 by Natori Shunsen. It changed hands for a price of USD 2,422.50 (€ 2,067.33) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Natori Shunsen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sosaku hanga shunsen nigao-e gashu (Creative prints: collected portrait-pictures by Shunsen) in March 2001 with an auction result of USD 25,850.00 (€ 29,395.04).
