Upper estimate price exceeded by 83 %.
This artwork by Natori Shunsen achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September 2007. In the Japanese and Korean Art auction, the work Nude combing her hair, 1928 Ichikawa Kigan V (1887-1978) as Otomi, in the play Yowanasake ukina no yokogushi, 1927 Nakamura Ganjiro I (1860-1935) as Kamiya Jihei, in the play Kawasho, 1933.11 sold for USD 2,750.00 (€ 1,934.03) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Natori Shunsen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sosaku hanga shunsen nigao-e gashu (Creative prints: collected portrait-pictures by Shunsen) in March 2001 with an auction result of USD 25,850.00 (€ 29,395.04).
In der Auktion Japanese and Korean Art wurde die Arbeit Nude combing her hair, 1928 Ichikawa Kigan V (1887-1978) as Otomi, in the play Yowanasake ukina no yokogushi, 1927 Nakamura Ganjiro I (1860-1935) as Kamiya Jihei, in the play Kawasho, 1933.11 für USD 2.750,00 (€ 1.934,03) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.500,00.
