Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Christies in New York held the auction Post-War to Present, which included the work Rosey by Nathaniel Mary Quinn. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 88,200.00 (€ 81,125.83) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nathaniel Mary Quinn - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Over Yonder, which sold at auction in October 2019 for GBP 212,500.00 (€ 246,484.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War to Present durch, in der auch die Arbeit Rosey von Nathaniel Mary Quinn zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 88.200,00 (€ 81.125,83) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Nathaniel Mary Quinn mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Over Yonder beobachtet, die im Oktober 2019 für GBP 212.500,00 (€ 246.484,76) versteigert wurde.
