This artwork by Nathaniel Dance-Holland achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2006. In the British Pictures 1500-1850 auction, the work Portrait of Mrs. Vere, Three-Quarter-Length, In A White Dress With A Pink Sash, Holding A Book In Her Left Hand, With A Landscape Beyond sold for GBP 42,000.00 (€ 60,773.30) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Nathaniel Dance-Holland have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Thomas Assheton-Smith (1752-1828), full-length, in a red jacket in July 2021 with an auction result of GBP 400,000.00 (€ 469,082.94).

Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Nathaniel Dance-Holland auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Thomas Assheton-Smith (1752-1828), full-length, in a red jacket im Juli 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 400.000,00 (€ 469.082,94).
