Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of A Girl by Nathaniel Dance-Holland was sold in the Old Master and Early British Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in October 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,125.00 (€ 3,983.25) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nathaniel Dance-Holland achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Thomas Assheton-Smith (1752-1828), full-length, in a red jacket in July 2021 with an auction result of GBP 400,000.00 (€ 469,082.94).
