This artwork by Narayan Shridhar Bendre achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September last year. In the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction, the work Cigar Maker sold for USD 69,300.00 (€ 70,837.17) - well above the upper estimate of USD 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Narayan Shridhar Bendre - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Three Women), which sold at auction in September 2021 for USD 225,000.00 (€ 194,350.87).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Narayan Shridhar Bendre erzielte im September letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Cigar Maker für USD 69.300,00 (€ 70.837,17) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 25.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Narayan Shridhar Bendre mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Three Women) beobachtet, die im September 2021 für USD 225.000,00 (€ 194.350,87) versteigert wurde.
