Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sheela-na-Gig by Nancy Spero was sold in the Heatwave: Online Auction auction at Phillips in 19 - in September this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,350.00 (€ 6,350.00) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Nancy Spero have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Love, Peace, Glory in July 2020 with an auction result of USD 60,000.00 (€ 50,959.74).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sheela-na-Gig von Nancy Spero wurde im September diesen Jahres in der Auktion Heatwave: Online Auction bei Phillips in 19 - versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.350,00 (€ 6.350,00) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Nancy Spero auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Love, Peace, Glory im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 60.000,00 (€ 50.959,74).
