Auction result well in line with expectations
The work "Sit Down," Says The Stranger. "I Take What I Have A Mind To, Sir." (The Laughing Lady) by N. C. Wyeth was sold in the American Art auction at Sothebys in New York in October 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 225,000.00 (€ 198,552.77) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by N. C. Wyeth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of A Farmer (Pennsylvania Farmer) in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 5,985,900.00 (€ 5,129,305.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit "Sit Down," Says The Stranger. "I Take What I Have A Mind To, Sir." (The Laughing Lady) von N. C. Wyeth wurde im Oktober 2018 in der Auktion American Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 225.000,00 (€ 198.552,77) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von N. C. Wyeth erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of A Farmer (Pennsylvania Farmer) im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.985.900,00 (€ 5.129.305,91).
